Radio Messenger is a text chat client that has been customized for use via AX.25 packet radio amongst Amateur Radio operators.

The goal of Radio Messenger is to provide a convenient and useful chat client for keyboard-to-keyboard packet conversations using a user interface similar to that found in the commonly available internet text chat software (MSN Messenger, Windows Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AOL Instant Messaging).

As more is learned about the functionality and odd bugs sure to reveal themselves there will be more support showing up on this page.

As the program has JUST NOW been released, work on providing support communications channels (online support groups, bug reporting, etc) will soon be in place.

In the interim, if you have questions or comments, please send an email to and I'll get back to you with some form of response.

Thanks for giving Radio Messenger a try!

NOTE:  May 5, 2005

Beta 0.1.1 is released today and has a couple of bug fixes.   This new version will now work on Windows98 and 95 machines without the msimg32 file.  Additionally, the friends icons display more appropriately and there is a change in how personal preferences are entered.

For those who already downloaded Beta 0.1.0, you can download just the RadioMessenger.exe file by CLICKING HERE and save the larger download (this exe file is just 303k).
